About Us
Helping people with limb loss enjoy life to the fullest has been the goal of founder and president Richard J. Rosenberg, CPO, LPO, for over 40 years. Specially trained in the design, fitting, and fabrication of highly functional prostheses, or artificial limbs, Rich opened R.J. Rosenberg Orthopedic Lab in Cincinnati in 1980 to serve people with physical disabilities. He later added an office in Hamilton for the convenience of patients in the surrounding area.
Rich received his formal education and clinical training at Northwestern University and is a licensed practitioner by the Ohio State Board of Orthotics, Prosthetics, & Pedorthics. He was certified in prosthetics in 1969 by the American Board for Accreditation in Orthotics & Prosthetics (ABC), the profession's most respected credentialing body. Rich is also ABC-accredited as an orthotist, a professional who designs and fits orthopedic braces and support systems for people who've been injured or have conditions that weaken joints or muscle systems.
Rich is a member of and past president of the Ohio Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (OOPA) and a charter member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP). He also serves as a prosthetics consultant at Mercy Hospital in Hamilton, in which capacity he conducts evaluations for amputee patients and participates in clinics along with physicians, physical and occupational therapists, and other members of the rehabilitation team.
Our Facility
Our office is completely handicapped accessible with an attractive waiting area and private fitting rooms. We offer private and convenient parking for patients.
R.J. Rosenberg Orthopedic Lab is a member of the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) and an ABC-accredited facility. Accreditation for both practitioners and facilities is the most highly regarded achievement and represents attaining the most stringent level of standards in the field of orthotics and prosthetics.
Hours and Appointments
Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Following each referral to R.J. Rosenberg Orthopedic Lab, an initial evaluation is scheduled, based on the patient's diagnosis and prescription. All patients are seen in a timely fashion.
Post-amputation patients are generally seen within 24 hours of a referral, either in the hospital, another care facility, or in our office.
Patients in non-emergency situations are generally scheduled for an appointment within 48 hours of receipt of the referral.
Patients are contacted by telephone regarding the first appointment. We remind our patients to give our office 24 hours notice, if possible, in the event an appointment cannot be kept.

All concerns and questions regarding patient treatment practices and/or rehabilitation devices fabricated, custom-fit, or otherwise provided by our firm are addressed and resolved to the best of our ability. We stand behind the quality of our workmanship and the ability of our staff to fit functional and comfortable prostheses tailored to each patient's needs. Our reputation as a provider of superior rehabilitation services is important to us, and we will do our utmost to ensure that patients, referral sources, and third-party providers receive the performance and consideration that is their right.
Billing & Insurance
For our patients' convenience, we accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover, Medicare assignment, Medicaid, Workers’ Compensation, Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR) payment, and Veterans Administration (VA) payment.
