Our Services
R.J. Rosenberg Orthopedic Lab specializes in a full range of prosthetic services for adults and children who have experienced full or partial limb loss. We have an extensive knowledge of prosthetic options — from reliable basic designs and cosmetic devices to the most advanced electronic-impulse activated, high performance components. Creative use of a range of socket designs and suspension systems — coupled with gait training and patient education in the wearing and care of the prosthesis — helps both new and experienced amputees achieve treatment goals.
Our prosthetic services include, but are not limited to:
- CAT-CAM/NSNA/Ischial containment above-knee sockets
- Myoelectric upper extremity prostheses
- Computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing of prosthetic sockets (CAD/CAM)
- Total surface bearing (TSB) below-knee prostheses
- Ossur Flex-Foot® prostheses for active amputees
- Endolite prosthetic components
- Immediate post-surgical fittings (IPSF) and immediate post-operative prostheses (IPOP)
- Silicone suction suspension (3S)
- Vacuum-assisted socket technology
Advanced technology products include:
C-Leg®
The Otto Bock HealthCare C-Leg® and Compact™ microprocessor-controlled knees are designed to deliver the best in stability and reliability, even walking down stairs, step over step, and an easier time walking up and down inclines. The on-board computer built into the knee senses and calculates the needs of the user more than 50 times a second.
Proprio Foot™
Ossur’s Proprio Foot™ provides artificial proprioception – the sense of where the limb is in space. Patented artificial intelligence (AI) sorts out the information from the foot’s sensor technology and activates the most appropriate response for the next step.
RHEO KNEE®
Ossur's RHEO KNEE® is the world’s first microprocessor swing and stance knee system to utilize the power of artificial intelligence. Capable of independent thought, it learns how the user walks, recognizing and responding immediately to changes in speed, load and terrain.
DynamicArm®
The DynamicArm® from Otto Bock HealthCare, the most advanced myoelectric prosthesis for transhumeral amputees, provides a greater range of motion, closely mimics natural arm movements, and allows for quick, exact positioning of the hand, even with heavy objects. Its microprocessor communication system results in a faster transfer of information that commands the arm to move.
Utah Arm®
Motion Control’s Utah Arm®, for above-elbow and higher level amputees, was introduced in 1981 as the most advanced myoelectric prosthesis, combining technology, performance, and cosmetic appearance. A subsequent version, the Utah Arm 3+®, incorporates microprocessor technology that allows for simultaneous operation of both the elbow and hand, providing a more natural function. The Utah Arm 3+® also uses a wireless computer connection and interface to greatly simplify fine tuning of the elbow and hand controls.
Vacuum-Assisted Socket System Technology
Vacuum-assisted socket system technology creates an elevated vacuum between the patient’s liner and socket wall, promoting natural fluid exchange, a secure, intimate fit, and greater proprioception. Products that feature this technology include Otto Bock’s Harmony® VASS™ and Ohio Willow Wood’s Limblogic™ VS.
